Objetivo: Investigar os efeitos da fisioterapia nas dores psicossomáticas em pacientes com transtorno mental comum. Métedos: Realizou-se uma revisão de literatura, nas seguintes bases de dados: SciELO, LILACS e Medline, fazendo uso dos descritores em ciências da saúde em português: Fisioterapia, Transtornos Mentais. Para as associações de termos foram utilizados os operadores “E” e “OU”. Foram incluídos artigos científicos originais que contemplassem a temática, publicados em língua portuguesa, no período de 2018 a 2022, que abordavam sobre o efeito da fisioterapia nas dores psicossomáticas em pacientes com idade igual ou maior de 18 anos, incluindo revisões sistemáticas, ensaios clínicos controlados e aleatorizados e estudo de coorte retrospectivo. Resultados: Foram encontrados 26 estudos, dos quais se encaixaram nos critérios de inclusão apenas 4. Observou-se que a utilização da terapia manual, cinesioterapia, atividade grupal e hidroterapia favoreceu a melhora nas dores psicossomáticas dos indivíduos estudados, bem como promoveu a melhora na qualidade de vida através da melhora do bem-estar e da redução de sintomas emocionais, proporcionando melhora funcional e motora deles. Conclusão: Inúmeros são os benefícios relacionados às condutas fisioterapêuticas em pessoas com transtornos mentais comuns, no entanto, há uma carência de estudos que examinem de forma mais específica a atuação da fisioterapia nas dores psicossomáticas aliada aos tratamentos convencionais de transtornos mentais comuns.
