Os jogos didáticos têm se constituído como ferramentas auxiliares no processo de ensino e de aprendizagem, especialmente no contexto das aulas de Química, uma disciplina que encontra explicação para seus fenômenos no nível submicroscópico. Assim, de modo a facilitar a aprendizagem de Termoquímica, além de proporcionar um momento de descontração e cooperação, três bolsistas de iniciação à docência do subprojeto de Química planejaram e aplicaram um jogo de cartas que foi denominado de TermoQuiz. Esse recurso didático foi aplicado em três turmas do ensino médio de uma escola estadual parceira do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID) da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Durante o desenvolvimento do jogo, o professor supervisor e as bolsistas perceberam que os alunos se empenharam na atividade, não só por perceberem que essa era uma oportunidade para rever os conteúdos estudados, os quais demonstraram dificuldades de compreensão, como também para conseguirem os pontos avaliativos que os ajudariam na média do 4º bimestre, o que para muitos, resultou na aprovação para um nível escolar mais avançado.
