Este artículo compara la perspectiva de las Contadoras Públicas y Auditoras (CPA) egresadas en 2015 y 2020 de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile, respecto a las causas de la baja participación laboral de las mujeres CPA en Chile, principalmente en cargos de directorio y gerencias de empresas. Tuvo un diseño metodológico cuantitativo, se aplicó una encuesta a ambos grupos de estudio, cuyo propósito fue reunir las perspectivas de ambas generaciones, y con los resultados obtenidos se realizó una comparación y análisis sobre la existencia y los factores que influyen en la desigualdad de género en el país. Dentro de los hallazgos se destaca que el principal factor que influye en la baja participación de las mujeres CPA tiene que ver con la maternidad y vida familiar, que se han convertido en puntos de inflexión dentro de la carrera profesional de las mujeres y sus ambiciones laborales.
