A fabricação de diferentes nanomaterias com distintas características físico-químicas estão sendo pesquisadas, principalmente nas áreas biológicas e farmacêuticas. As nanopartículas (NPs) são grupos de átomos, íons ou moléculas que possuem dimensões entre 1-100 nm. É difundido na pesquisa o uso de quitosana (CH), nanopartículas de prata (AgNPs) e nanotubos de carbono (NTC) em bactérias, contudo, as aplicações celulares desses nanomateriais combinados, ainda carecem de mais investigações. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a capacidade anticancerígena da combinação destes nanomateriais (CH, AgNPs e NTC), obtidos após compactação. Os nanomateriais produzidos foram caracterizados por DRX e compactados por meio de uma prensa hidráulica (discos contendo 100 mg). A quantidade de NTC avaliada na obtenção dos discos foi de 3, 5 e 10 mg (m/m). Os difratogramas, obtidos das amostras, mostraram que não houve diferenças significativas nas estruturas cristalinas, das combinações ternárias, apesar da variação na quantidade dos NTC incorporados. Em relação aos testes in vitro, as amostras foram testadas em células de linhagem de câncer colorretal (HT-29) pelos ensaios de MTT, PicoGreen, NO, DCFH-DA e coloração de violeta genciana. Foi possível avaliar significativa diferença entre as amostras binárias compostas por CH/NTC, principalmente nas duas amostras com menor quantidade de NTC. Já as amostras ternárias apresentaram resultados adequados para os parâmetros dos ensaios, portanto, promissores para uma sequência da pesquisa.
