Introdução: O câncer colorretal (CCR) está diretamente relacionado ao estilo de vida, com isso, sua incidência e mortalidade vem aumentando anualmente, apesar de já existirem métodos de rastreio e prevenção. Assim, o estudo tem como objetivos fazer uma análise epidemiológica acerca do câncer colorretal em Alagoas de acordo com mortalidade, tempo de início do tratamento, internações hospitalares e modalidade terapêutica. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo transversal observacional, com dados colhidos através do Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde, entre os anos de 2018 e 2022. Resultados: Foi observado que a quantidade de novos casos variou entre 82 e 204, sendo a menor em 2022 e a maior em 2021. Já os óbitos vêm subindo anualmente, com o menor número em 2018 (115) e o maior em 2022 (155). Em relação ao tratamento, a quimioterapia foi mais frequente, correspondendo cerca de metade das terapias feitas, especialmente entre mulheres e pacientes de 50 a 59 anos. O início do tratamento, para a maioria dos casos, ocorreu tardiamente, com mais de 60 dias após o diagnóstico. Acerca dos internamentos hospitalares, a urgência deteve 77,3% da quantidade no total. Discussão: A crescente incidência e mortalidade provavelmente estão relacionadas a má alimentação e sedentarismo, especialmente no público abaixo dos 50 anos. Ademais, fatores sociodemográficos e a dificuldade no acesso de consultas especializadas contribuem para o diagnóstico e tratamento tardios e, consequentemente, aumentam a gravidade do quadro. Conclusão: Dessa forma, é importante que sejam fortalecidas políticas públicas para levar informação à população, aumentar o rastreio e otimizar o acesso para início do tratamento, a fim de diminuir a morbimortalidade pelo CCR.
