A study was made of various cationic centra that will be suitable for the efficient separation of IrCl 2À 6 from chlororhodium(III) species both in the form of precipitants and extractants. The double-charged quaternized ammonium species with the lowest charge density proved to be the best precipitants. The extractant analogues of the most efficient precipitating agents proved to be very efficient as extractants of IrCl 2À 6 but they are not suitable for practical application due to the difficulty to reverse the process in the solvent extraction system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
