Scliiifer *) Uber die Alkaloide von Pycnarrhena manillensis VIDAL Pycnamin, ein neues Alkaloid der Berbamin-Reihe der Biscoclaurin-Alkaloide dnstelle cler bislang in der Literatur baschriebenen sechs tertiaren Alkaloide, Pycnan, in. Ambalin, dmbakinin, Pycnarrhin, Pycnarrhenin, Pycnarrh,enamin, wurden aus Pycnarrhena nianillensis T'IDAL nur vier tertiare Alkuloide nachgewiesen und isoliert. Alle Frrbindungen gehiiren zur Berbamin-Reihe der Biscoclaurin-Alkabide. Drei duvon erwiesen sicli als bereits behnnt, namlich Isotetrandrin, Phaemthin und Berbumin. Das vierte Alkaloid, Pycnamin, Fp. 183'; = -283", war unbekannter Natur und konnte als 0-Ueinethylphaeanthin, erkannt werden. Die Alkaloide Ambalin, Arnbalinin, Pycnarrhin, P ycnarrhenin und P ycnarrhenamin sind entweder identisch mit Isotetrandrin, Phaeanthin und Berbaniin oder stelkn Gernische dieser Alkaloide dar. Im Interesse einer e.inheitlichen Xonaenklutur sollten die alteren Namen Isotetrandrin, Phaeanthin und Berbamin bevorzugt tcerden. Die Ausbeuten betrugen., bezogeti auf getrocknete Droge: Isotetrandrin. 0,4%, Phueanthin 0,0500, P ycnamin 0,40/,, Berba i n in 0,496. Pycnarrheiia mariillensis gehort zur Familie der Menisperinaceen uncl ist in den Pliilippineii heimiscli. Sie ist eine Pflanze voii buschartigeni Habitus uritl m-ird his zii eineni Meter groB. Nach Quisurnbingl) wird sie in d e n Waldern u n d Dschungeldickicht'en tiefer und mittlerer Regionen angetroffen. Guerrero2) berichtet, tlaB eiii peroral verabreicliter AufguB der gepulverten Wurzeln bonisierencle Eigenscliaften zeigt. AuOerdem sollen die gepulverten Wurzeln nach Vdemuela3) benutzt Tverdeii gegen Cholera und antlere Darinerkrankungen, sowie als gutes Fieberniittel. SchlieBlich soll die Pflanze Verwendung finden gegea Sehlangenbisse und sich wiih~eiirl tles Grburtsvorganges als niitzlich erwiesen haben.
