Measurements of the conduction electron spin resonance linewidths and relaxation times of magnesium are preeented as a function of temperature and at a frequency of 9.27 GHz. The samples all had dimensions which were large in comparison with the skin depth and a temperature range of 80 to 000 OK was covered. The results are interpreted in terms of a temperature-dependent intrinsic relaxation mechanism, a temperaturedependent surface relaxation mechanism and a temperature-independent impurity one.
Measurements are reported of the conduction electron spin resonance linewidths of magnesium, contaminated with surface layers of Mg,N, and MgO, as a function of temperature and a t a frequency of 9.27 GHz. The samples all had dimensions which were large in comparison with the skin depth and a temperature range of 200 to 600 O K was covered. The results are interpreted in terms of a temperature-dependent intrinsic relaxation mechanism, a temperature-dependent surface relaxation mechanism, and a temperatureindependent impurity relaxation mechanism.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
