RESUMO -O presente estudo visa investigar o efeito da aplicação de nanopartículas deCoFe2O4 dispersas em água no processo de troca térmica em um radiador. O método de coprecipitação foi utilizado para obtenção das partículas em escala nanométrica, a qual foi estabilizada no fluido base por vibração ultrassônica (120W, 40 Hz), mediante adição de hidróxido de tetrametilamônio como surfactante. Variou-se fatores como concentração volumétrica, vazão do nanofluido e fluido refrigerante e temperatura de entrada no equipamento. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram a formação de nanopartículas CoFe2O4 com diâmetro médio de 10,8 nm. Verificou-se que o aumento da diferença de temperatura de entrada e saída do nanofluido no radiador é diretamente proporcional a concentração volumétrica de nanopartículas dispersas.
