An unusual case of delayed presentation of bladder injury is reported. During laparoscopic surgery in a 32‐year‐old woman the bladder was inadvertently perforated. The injury was not recognized intra‐operatively. The patient was re‐admitted 72 h postoperatively with lower abdominal pain, no evidence of haematuria, and blood biochemistry results similar to those of someone in acute renal failure. The diagnosis was confirmed with a retrograde cystogram and the case was successfully treated by continuous drainage with a Foley catheter.
