RESUMO:A pesquisa foi realizada no Perímetro Irrigado Curu-Pentecoste e teve como objetivo avaliar a extensão de solos degradados por sais e das produtividades do coqueiro nos oito setores hidráulicos do perímetro. Os agricultores são de base familiar em número de 173, cada um ocupando uma área de aproximadamente 4,13 ha, os quais são irrigados por superfície através do sistema de sulcos. As amostras de solo foram coletadas na camada de 0 -0,3 m, em todos os setores, em total de sete coletas para formar uma amostra composta por cada lote agrícola. Nestas amostras foram determinadas a condutividade elétrica (CE) no extrato 1:1 e a percentagem de sódio extraído (trocável + solúvel). Os dados de CE foram corrigidos para o extrato de saturação. Utilizou-se como referência para a estratificação dos solos degradados por sais, classificação proposta por Pizarro (1976), que constitui uma adaptação da classificação americana do US Salinity Laboratory. Realizou-se um diagnóstico da produtividade do coqueiro, por representar 74% da área cultivada onde foram realizadas as amostragens de solo.Os resultados permitiram as seguintes conclusões: Em 2/3 do total da área amostrada identificaram-se solos com CE superiores a 2,0 dS m -1 e/ou PST superior a 7%; Os mapas de isosalinidade e isosodicidade permitiram visualizar uma predominância de solos degradados por sais à margem direita do Rio Curu; Os níveis de produtividade do coqueiro em praticamente todos os setores hidráulicos se encontram dentro da faixa de referência; A diferenciação nos níveis de produtividade guardam uma relação mais direta com o manejo da cultura do que propriamente com os níveis de degradação dos solos por sais.
