RESUMO -Neste trabalho foi verificada a eficiência do tratamento da fibra de coco com o líquido iônico (LI) acetato de n-butilamônio, visando o aumento da concentração de glicose após a realização da hidrólise enzimática. Para isso, foi realizada a síntese e caracterização via RMN do LI. Após confirmada a formação do mesmo, foram feitos diversos tratamentos da fibra de coco com o LI, variando-se a temperatura e o tempo de tratamento, com o intuito de se verificar a influência dessas variáveis na concentração de glicose final. Todas as amostras foram caracterizadas através da determinação da concentração de lignina e holocelulose para verificação da influência do tratamento na modificação das características da fibra, sendo identificada uma maior redução da concentração de lignina e, aumento da concentração de holocelulose, ao utilizar-se elevadas temperatura (acima de 100ºC) durante tempos superiores a 24 h. Após essa etapa, foi realizada a hidrólise enzimática de todas as amostras e determinada a condição que possibilitou a obtenção de uma maior concentração da mesma (110ºC e por 24h). Amostras foram, então, tratadas nessa condição sendo verificado um aumento da eficiência da hidrólise entre 20 e 35 %.
