Varicella is one of the secondary infectious diseases listed in forensic medicine, and it is one of the diseases with strong contagion and high risk. Varicella still affects more than 20,000 people in Korea every year. In this study, in order to grasp the risk area and risk year, we obtained and analyzed the varicella data classified by the urban army every year. To advance the spatial analysis, we used the local Moran's I method and scan statistics, which are commonly used to detect risk areas. we proposed a Moran scan statistics method that can complement and combine the shortcomings of these methods and detect dangerous areas. The scan statistics method is also used for temporal and spatial analysis. We calculated the relative risk rate for each year and also calculated log-likelihood ratios under a Poisson distribution. Continue to cluster the most risk years and detect clusters of risk areas and risk years in a cylinder that includes temporal and spatial attributes. Through the results, we confirmed that the risk areas have special patterns and compared the risk areas detected by existing methods and the proposed method. In the future, we expect it to help prevent infectious diseases, including varicella.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
