Number of security vulnerabilities in web application has grown with the tremendous growth of web application in last two decades. As the domain of Web Applications is maturing, large number of empirical studies has been reported in web applications to address the solution of vulnerable web application. However, before advancing towards finding new approaches of web applications security vulnerability detection, there is a need to analyze and synthesize existing evidence based studies in web applications area. To do this, we have planned to conduct a systematic mapping study to view and report the state-of-the-art of empirical work in existing research of web applications. In this paper, we aimed at providing a description of mapping study for synthesizing the reported empirical research in the area of web applications security vulnerabilities detection approaches. The proposed solutions are mapped against: (1) the software development stages for which the solution has been proposed and (2) the web application vulnerabilities mapping according to OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities. To do this, existing literature has been surveyed using a systematic mapping study by phrasing two research questions. In the mapping study, a total of 41 studies dating from 1994 to 2014 were evaluated and mapped against the aforementioned categories. The outcome of this mapping study is current state-of-the-art of empirical research in web application area, strength and weaknesses of existing empirical work, best practices and possible directions for future research.
Information communication technology plays a vital role in countries' economic growth, and at the same time, it changes the form of traditional government to digital government. Digital governance is about having a competent and responsible government to deliver efficient, better, and 24/7 public services. It improves citizen participation, transparency, and overcomes administrative bottlenecks. Slackness of any government organisation in providing quality services will instantly become a topic of debate on print, electronic, and social media, forcing the political leaders to take corrective actions to save their own skin. However, for developing countries, this is going to be difficult to attain the same level of efficiency and flexibility. This study will examine the state of digital governance in developing countries particularly in the Pakistan government and will highlight the facts that through the implementation of digital governance in Pakistan (i.e., challenges and difficulties as well as opportunities that will help us to promote the application of digital governance).
Distributed Software Development has become an established software development paradigm that provides several advantages but it presents significant challenges to share and understand the knowledge required for developing software. Organizations are expected to implement appropriate practices to address knowledge management. From the existing studies, it is been analyzed that there were problems of collaboration between distributed team members which effects knowledge sharing. Documentation problem (such as missing, poor and outdated documents) and knowledge vaporization (as much of the conversation and communication is done via chat and retrieving it later is a great headache) is a major challenge in Distributed Software Development in knowledge sharing. Our main objective is to improve knowledge sharing between distributed team members and prevent knowledge vaporization and reduced documentation problem that will help in improving software development process in a distributed environment. To eliminate these challenges we proposed a framework which deals with documentation and knowledge vaporization problems and evaluated it through industrial case study and evaluate the framework performance in real-life context where actually the problem arises, we conducted the interviews and analyzed the data using thematic analysis and SUS questioner we came to the conclusion on team members response that they are satisfied with our proposed solution and it improved their knowledge sharing process. Our intention was to improve the knowledge process with our proposed solution and the evaluation showed that we resolved these problems.
Providing affordable and quality healthcare is the most burning demand for humanity. It is a fact that more or less half of the world's population resides in rural areas, and a majority of these people are left without the most basic amenities, such as healthcare and education. It is considered difficult to open and manage healthcare facilities in any community using traditional healthcare models for the states with limited resources particularly for developing countries. One of the most popular substitute tools is telemedicine to improve healthcare for underprivileged groups. In telemedicine, information and communication technologies (ICTs) are employed to ensure healthcare at a distance. On the other hand, one of the main problems in developing countries is the quality and cost of healthcare. In health research, telemedicine has become a new hope for eliminating bottlenecks. In this study, the authors have examined what challenges and issues developing countries are facing in implementation of telemedicine; particularly, they examine Pakistan as a case.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
