In this study, it was aimed to determine the moderating role of self-consciousness in the effect of work-family conflict on work engagement. This research conducted on 438 academics working in two public universities in Turkey has the relational model. The model created for research purposes was tested with SPSS Process macro software. As a result of the research, significant negative relations were found between work-family conflict and work engagement. Again, As a result of the hierarchical regression analysis, it was observed that self-consciousness does plays a moderating role in the effect of work-family conflict on the job attachment and vigor, sub-dimension of vigor and dedicatin. Accordingly, individuals with high self-consciousness feel less of the negative effects of work-family conflict than individuals with low self-consciousness.
Travel has been advocated as a fortifying ground for experiential learning that can engage individuals in numerous experiences through the observation of the destination society and culture. In spite of the vast literature available about the link between tourism and experiential learning outcomes, there are limited studies that gauge educational tourists' familiarity with the intangible cultural heritage of their host communities. Particularly, this study focuses on local food, which is known as a marker of the destination culture and an intangible heritage that plays an inevitable role in almost any tourism experience. Correspondingly, the current exploratory study took an experiential learning approach to understand educational tourists' knowledge about local foods in Cyprus. The findings of the research revealed that educational tourists have very meager knowledge of local foods. The discussion is accordingly provided.
As spending considerable time on Smart Phones has nearly become a norm, people ignoring other people around them in social environments, increased remarkably over the past decade. People being exposed to phubbing behaviors by their companions, looking at their phones repeatedly in social settings are feeling ignored. In this study, after an extensive literature review, data were collected from 352 participants via SurveyMonkey software regarding their perceptions about phubbing and being phubbed. The aim of this study is to find differences between Turkish Speaking Students' Phubbing Behaviors according to education, job status, working status and gender. Statistical analysis showed that, all participants stated ‚they get rid of their stress by interacting with their phones‛, though they do not mean to irritate others by focusing on their phones. Results also revealed that, Working participants are phubbed more compared to the Not Working and Retired participants.
Hata yönetimi, inovasyon, öğrenme ve motivasyon gibi birçok istendik örgütsel çıktının oluşmasına katkı sunan bir yönetim tarzıdır. Organizasyon çatısı altında meydana gelen hataları anlamak, bu hataların neden ve sonuçlarını değerlendirmek, çalışanlara bu hataları yönetebilme yetisi kazandırmak şüphesiz hata yönetiminden geçmektedir. Ulusal yazında hizmet sektöründe hata yönetim kavramını irdeleyen çalışmaların sınırlı sayıda olduğu görülmektedir. Bu araştırma ile hizmet sektörünün önemli bir parçası olan sigorta acentesi çalışanlarının hata ve hata yönetim kültürüne ilişkin algılarının belirlenmesi ve bu sayede alan yazına katkı sunulması amaçlanmaktadır. Olgubilim (fenomenolojik) bir yaklaşımla desenlenen araştırma, Kayseri il merkezinde faaliyet gösteren üç sigorta şirketinden toplam 12 kişinin katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda sigorta şirketlerinde ortaya çıkan hata türleri, çalışanları hataya sürükleyen nedenler, çalışanların bu hatalardan nasıl etkilendiği, çalışanların ve kurumlarının hataları nasıl algıladığı ve bu algıların cinsiyete göre nasıl değiştiği incelenmiştir. Son olarak hizmet sektörünün önemli ayaklarından biri olan sigorta şirketlerine ve gelecek araştırmacılara yönelik bazı önerilere yer verilmiştir.
