Dentre os resíduos gerados pelas indústrias está a madeira de eucalipto, uma alternativa para o tratamento desse tipo de resíduo são métodos de reforma. Um desses métodos de reforma empregados, e o utilizado neste trabalho é a gaseificação com água supercrítica (SCWG) com o objetivo de produzir hidrogênio (H2). Dito isto, foi realizada a otimização do processo de SCWG utilizando duas abordagens termodinâmicas, a minimização da energia de Gibbs (que descreve o comportamento de sistemas isotérmico) e a maximização da entropia (que descreve o comportamento de sistemas adiabáticos). As metodologias foram resolvidas com o auxílio do software GAMS, e foi possível verificar o perfil de produção dos diversos gases da SCWG e o comportamento dos mesmos nas diferentes condições de operação, as reações foram feitas fixando a pressão em 230 atm, e utilizando uma faixa de temperatura de 823 a 1423 K, obteve-se formação máxima de 1,15 mols de H2 quando o sistema opera a uma temperatura de 1323 K e uma alimentação de 20% wt de biomassa de cavaco de eucalipto.
