El Desorden Vásculo Cerebral (DVC) es una patología neurológica cuya secuela motriz más común es la hemiplejía que afecta principalmente a la postura y tono muscular, afectándose también los músculos respiratorios. Se comprobó que la función diafragmática esta alterada en su capacidad respiratoria y contráctil. Lo que disminuye la limpieza mucociliar y aumenta el riesgo de neumonía aspirativa. En este trabajo se revisa el estado actual de los conocimientos sobre neumonía intrahospitalaria y función diafragmática en el paciente post DVC.
