O Parque Natural Morro do Osso é uma Unidade de Conservação (UC) de proteção integral, que abriga importante área de Mata Atlântica e Campos Sulinos no município de Porto Alegre (RS). O presente estudo teve como objetivo calcular a capacidade de carga da Trilha de Educação Ambiental do Parque, contribuindo para a gestão do uso público da área, buscando a minimização dos impactos negativos sobre ela. Para tal, foi utilizada a metodologia de cálculo em três etapas: Capacidade de Carga Física (CCF), Capacidade de Carga Real (CCR) e Capacidade de Carga Efetiva (CCE). A CCR diária para a trilha foi estimada em 140 visitas ou sete grupos de 20 visitantes. Entretanto, com a capacidade de manejo atual, a CCF resultou em apenas 25% deste total, sendo que o número de condutores de visitantes habilitados para atuarem na trilha foi o fator limitante. Entende-se que esforços no sentido de habilitar novos condutores para a trilha sejam fundamentais para alcançar a CCR estimada.
