Resumo O artigo explora os limites e possibilidades de uma atividade voltada para o ensino de Matemática para a justiça social, utilizando o conceito de leitura e escrita do mundo com a Matemática proposto por Eric Gutstein. Nesse sentido, foram trabalhados conteúdos de trigonometria no triângulo retângulo, aplicados a uma situação de adequação da acessibilidade de pessoas com deficiência ou mobilidade reduzida. Os/As participantes da atividade foram alunos/as do 9° ano do Ensino Fundamental em posição confortável de uma escola da rede privada no interior de São Paulo. Os dados, provenientes dos diários dos/as estudantes, respostas a um questionário reflexivo e meu próprio diário, revelam que é possível atingir objetivos da Educação Matemática para justiça social: foi possível realizar a leitura e escrita do mundo com a Matemática, melhorar o desempenho escolar, mudar concepções acerca da Matemática e desenvolver a capacidade de ação social dos/as participantes. Dentre os limites destaca-se o fato de o projeto ter sido realizado com um grupo restrito de estudantes, algumas dificuldades instransponíveis sem auxílio do professor e o pouco tempo disponível para esta atividade. Esperase, no entanto, que esses aspectos possam ser melhorados com a ampliação da experiência e realização de outros projetos de mesma natureza.
O presente artigo tem como objetivo desvelar as possíveis conexões entre a Educação Matemática Crítica e a problemática das avaliações externas em larga escala no Brasil, tendo como base, a revisão da literatura da área. Tem-se que, atualmente, os resultados de exames de avaliações em larga escala e o fluxo dos estudantes são utilizados para compor índices de qualidade da educação, baseados em lógicas de eficiência e produtividade, mais próximos de ideais mercadológicos do que educacionais. Essa nova racionalidade tem influenciado o cotidiano escolar, por meio da padronização de currículos e práticas, desmoralizando professores e escolas, potencializando o ensino tradicional de Matemática e o absolutismo burocrático, em detrimento de uma Educação Matemática Crítica (EMC), por meio da criação de consensos e de ideologias da certeza. Nesse sentido, a prática calcada nos pressupostos da EMC pode configurar-se como momento de resistência por parte dos professores de Matemática, incentivar a busca pelo fortalecimento do coletivo escolar e a restituição de processos mais democráticos dentro e fora da escola (sobretudo no que diz respeito à construção de critérios de avaliação do ensino) para que se apresentem alternativas ao modelo tradicional de ensino da Matemática.
Este trabalho constitui um recorte de um projeto de Iniciação Científica do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Sudeste de Minas Gerais, Campus Santos Dumont (IF Sudeste MG-Santos Dumont), realizado por alunos do curso de graduação em Licenciatura em Matemática. Por meio do levantamento bibliográfico, buscou-se responder à pergunta: quais os caminhos percorridos pelas pesquisas em educação matemática crítica no Brasil nos últimos 22 anos? Para tal, consideramos exclusivamente artigos, publicados em periódicos da área de Educação Matemática de circulação nacional e internacional, complementando a busca com o acesso ao Portal de Periódicos CAPES. Com isso, realizamos a revisão sistemática da literatura, classificando os trabalhos em categorias temáticas que, além de organizá-los, serve de base para a síntese crítica dos trabalhos. Além disso, apontam como resultados não só as tendências em certos temas de pesquisa, mas também lacunas.
O presente artigo apresenta as percepções de estudantes do 7º ano do ensino fundamental a respeito de um instrumento de avaliação – o portfólio – utilizado para avaliar as atividades realizadas durante a execução de um projeto em contexto de Educação Matemática Crítica. Ao final do desenvolvimento do projeto, como parte da avaliação do mesmo e do uso do instrumento de avaliação, 53 estudantes de duas turmas do 7º ano do ensino fundamental responderam a um questionário, onde puderam relatar suas experiências com o projeto e o modo como foi conduzida a avaliação. As respostas foram submetidas à análise de conteúdo categorial temática e apresentaram os seguintes resultados: os estudantes relataram percepções sobre o próprio processo de aprendizado e também em relação ao tema do projeto (Meio Ambiente e Alimentação). Por meio de tais registros e consonante com a literatura, evidenciou-se o desenvolvimento de habilidades de organização, apresentação e reflexão sobre o trabalho realizado, culminando em potencial para a autoavaliação; trabalho em equipe, leitura e escrita do mundo com a matemática e mudanças de atitude – em relação à disciplina e ao tema estudado. Como pontos a serem melhorados, os estudantes advogam pelo maior uso do instrumento, em diversos momentos, maior variedade nas atividades e responsabilidade dos integrantes dos grupos. Hipóteses levantadas durante o trabalho apontam para investigações que compreendam a metacognição dos estudantes, principalmente no que diz respeito às mobilizações de critérios utilizados para a inserção ou exclusão de atividades no portfólio, bem como atenção aos feedbacks dados pelo professor.
