Introdução: A neoplasia maligna do encéfalo é uma manifestação tumoral que acomete o sistema nervoso central (SNC), promovendo sinais e sintomas característicos, possibilitando métodos de diagnósticos e tratamentos que seguem padrões específicos. Objetivo: Analisar os aspectos epidemiológicos de neoplasias malignas do encéfalo no estado do Tocantins, no período entre 2010 e 2020. Método: Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico de análise descritiva, realizado através da coleta de dados anuais disponibilizados pelo TABNET do Departamento de Informação e Informática do SUS (DATASUS), no período entre 2010 e 2020, no estado do Tocantins, sendo essas informações coletadas do Sistema de Informações Hospitalares do SUS (SIH/SUS) vinculado ao Ministério da Saúde e à Secretaria Estadual de Saúde do Tocantins, passando, posteriormente, por uma análise descritiva simples. Resultados: A Região Norte apresentou o menor número de casos de internações entre as cinco regiões brasileiras (5.739). O estado do Tocantins contabilizou o terceiro menor número de casos hospitalares entre os sete estados que compõem a Região Norte (1.036). Dentre os municípios do Tocantins, o que notificou o maior número de hospitalizações foi Araguaína (610). Foram observados maiores números de internações, no estado do Tocantins, em pessoas do sexo masculino (576), quando comparados com o sexo feminino (460). No quesito cor/raça, a prevalência de casos, os quais necessitaram de internamentos, ocorreu em Pardos (715). Quanto à condição etária, há um predomínio entre os 60 e 69 anos (205). Conclusão: Há diferenças em âmbitos regionais, estaduais, municipais, de gênero, étnico-raciais e etários nas distribuições de casos de neoplasias malignas do encéfalo. Analisando-se o Tocantins, percebe-se a necessidade da compreensão das peculiaridades do estado para a elaboração de políticas de saúde mais diretas e eficazes, garantindo melhorias no que se refere ao processo de profilaxia, diagnóstico e tratamento desses tumores.
