Atualmente, a própolis é conhecida como um dos produtos de maior destaque devido às suas diversas propriedades farmacológicas e biológicas, dentre elas função anti-inflamatória, cicatrizante e antimicrobiana. Já o dimetilsulfóxido (DMSO) é um subproduto resultante do processamento da madeira e do petróleo, que com o passar do tempo vem sendo estudado e utilizado como carreador de diversos medicamentos e também desempenha funções anti-inflamatórias pela remoção de radicais livres e ação analgésica em resposta à depressão da condução de impulsos aferentes nervosos. Os objetivos do presente trabalho, foram o de comprovar a eficácia do uso da própolis e do DMSO como tratamento alternativo para cicatrização de feridas cirúrgicas, bem como, sugerir seus benefícios para o bem estar animal e manejo de feridas em geral. Foi analisada a qualidade da própolis por ensaios químicos e o seu potencial, associado ao DMSO, na cicatrização de feridas abertas. A própolis utilizada na confecção da pomada, atendeu todos os requisitos preconizados pela legislação, bem como apresentou os marcadores característicos para o tipo “verde” (BRP). Concluiu-se que a ação anti-inflamatória e antibiótica desempenhada pela pomada de própolis associada ao DMSO foi totalmente satisfatória, resultando em baixo grau de inflamação e apresentando cicatrização acelerada, com um melhor resultado, dispensando o uso de fármacos por via oral.
Resumo. O leite possui uma composição nutricional balanceada, que inclui todos os nutrientes essenciais para o crescimento e desenvolvimento das espécies mamíferas. Porém nele se encontra uma grande diversidade de micro-organismos, inclusive de patógenos, logo, a sua forma de industrialização requer cuidados específicos. Esses cuidados precisam de acompanhamento técnico desde o início de sua produção, ainda no curral, até se chegar nas grandes indústrias. Todavia como se sabe, o leite compõe uma variabilidade de microorganismos, cabe ao processo de industrialização fazer com que o mesmo se torne adequado para o consumo humano, de forma que os laticínios tenham como opção a elevação de temperatura para que assim ocorra a destruição dos patógenos presentes. A indústria com seu processo de evolução criou vários métodos para executar esses processos de neutralização de patógenos e o objetivo deste trabalho é evidenciar a técnica ultra high temperature (UHT), que consiste em elevar o calor de forma intensa por um curto período.
