O presente artigo analisa as possibilidades de construção do saber histórico por meio das histórias em quadrinhos, especificamente O diário de Anne Frank em Quadrinhos, adaptado por Mirella Spinelli (FRANK, 2017). Com base no aporte teórico produzido a partir das noções de consciência histórica, de Jörn Rüsen (2011), e de literacia e empatia histórica, de Peter Lee (2016, 2003), a pesquisa explora a adaptação literária, construindo uma proposta de ensino com o objetivo de favorecer a elaboração do conhecimento histórico pelos estudantes; além disso, mobiliza o aparato teórico-metodológico de Marc Bloch (2001) e Jörn Rüsen (2011). A análise da graphic novel como recurso didático evidenciou: a) a importância dos usos de diferentes fontes históricas em sala de aula; e b) as múltiplas possibilidades de percursos de aprendizagem dos estudantes, por meio de uma nova maneira de compreender e pensar a História, de modo específico, por meio das histórias em quadrinhos.
O artigo analisa os desafios da educação e do ensino de História durante a pandemia do coronavírus no Espírito Santo na busca pela compreensão de seus impactos na atuação docente. Problematiza a precarização da profissão e o adoecimento do professor (OLIVEIRA, 2003; SIMÕES; SALIM; TAVARES, 2008; FIRMINO; FERREIRA, 2020), em diálogo com os pressupostos de Schmidt (1999), Bittencourt (2008) e Cainelli e Schmidt (2004) a respeito do ensino de História. Com fundamentação em Bloch (2001), a análise das respostas ao questionário on-line de trinta e três professores capixabas que atuam na Educação Básica evidenciou: a) o aprofundamento dos problemas já existentes no contexto de trabalho docente em função da pandemia; e b) as fragilidades e a pouca efetivação dos processos de ensino-aprendizagem, em geral, e da disciplina História, em particular.
