This paper proposes an optimal generation scheduling method for a power system integrated with renewable energy sources (RES) based distributed generations (DG) and energy storage systems (ESS) considering maximum harvesting of RES outputs and minimum power system operating losses. The main contribution aims at economically employing RES in a power system. In particular, maximum harvesting of renewable energy is achieved by the mean of ESS management. In addition, minimum power system operating losses can be obtained by properly scheduling operating of ESS and controllable generations. Particle Swam Optimization (PSO) algorithm is applied to search for a near global optimal solutions. The optimization problem is formulated and evaluated taking into account power system operating constraints. The different operation scenarios have been used to investigate the effective of the proposed method via DIgSILENT PowerFactory software. The proposed method is examined with IEEE standard 14-bus and 30-bus test systems.
This paper presents the effect of over-voltage damage on contamination surface of porcelain insulator due to impulse high voltage connects in series with high voltage alternating current (HVAC) which studied by using rotating wheel dip test. This method is artificially accelerated ageing at short period and mostly resemble real application of insulator. To evaluate this effect, the frequency of leakage current (LC) waveform has been analyzed by fast Fourier transform. The results of the experiment showed that effect of HVAC series with impulse excitation voltage created a LC like as transient state which it is highest amplitude peak values of LC flow on the specimen surface. The partial discharge on specimen surface suddenly occurs after excite by both excitation voltage at few number of cycles and increasing depends on number of cycles.
Abstract-This paper presents the leakage current (LC) on porcelain insulator surface evaluated by the rotating wheel tester. The experiments have been studied under the conditions of severe environmental impact with surface contamination on specimens and then excited by electrical stresses for accelerated aging. The experiments were divided in two cases -high voltage alternating current and impulse excitation voltage. The result of the experiments showed that the LC on surface of specimen in both cases gradually increases almost exactly the same results for the first 100 cycles after that it rapidly increases with rotating wheel more than 100 cycles.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
