Safety of human life is of a paramount importance. In high current switching system, switch gear protects electrical circuit. However there is need to provide confidence to working engineers during installation work on high voltage installations. To prevent accidental switching on of switch gear by unauthorized workforce, this paper proposed a more life secured switching password-enabled device that strengthen working confidence and inactivate unauthorized person from hazardous switching of electrical power installation without the notice of field working engineers.
Obtainable remote nursing systems have some identified glitches including inept data extraction and dynamic tuning of data to preserve the quality of data transmission exclusively for the aged. This paper presents an alternative designed architecture of a microcontroller based heartbeat and body temperature monitoring system using fingertip and temperature sensor as a solution to some of the identified challenges of existing technology that uses network between the patient and doctor to enable remote monitoring of aged patient for medical attention. Appraisal of the device on real signals shows accuracy in heartbeat measurement, even under intense physical activity for the aged.
Today many educational institutions use the manual system of taking attendance in which student writes their names and matric numbers on a sheet of paper or in an attendance sheet. To eradicate the problem associated with the manual attendance system such as student not coming to class, writing of names for students who are not present, an automated approach is implemented through biometric technology embedded with a window application which is fully explained in this work. This paper presents design and construction of student attendance management system. The developed system comprises of a timekeeping system that will register every student in a database. The database itself will be managed by the department, so that reports, either individual or collective, can be issued whenever they are needed on both physical and electronic format. Also, these reports would be used to create statistics and further help the growth of the academic process.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
