Desde la experiencia infantil la construcción de paz se convierte en desafío, propósito y proyecto, implicando que se inicia de las condiciones de realidad en las que han crecido, es decir, contextos de elevada violencia. Al mismo tiempo involucra desnaturalizar las múltiples y variadas maneras de violencia en las que viven y sobreviven; escuchar y comprender el concepto y sentido de la paz desde la condición de memoria y reflexión para la no repetición, como referentes epistémicos y herramientas prácticas para asumir nuevas formas de interrelación con el mundo incluyendo a los mismos niños. Para logra esto es fundamental comenzar temprano para construir sociedades más fuertes y pacíficas, radicando en este precepto la importancia del modelo educativo en el desarrollo de la primera infancia, la cual ha recibido una atención cada vez mayor en la última década. En la actualidad la educomunicación es una forma de pedagogía crítica que concibe los procesos educativos, la comunicación, los medios y las tecnologías como herramientas de análisis y de acción para la comprensión y la transformación del mundo. Por tanto, el presente documento tiene el objetivo de analizar la educomunicación como herramienta de construcción de paz en el proceso de desarrollo integral en niños, estableciendo un planteamiento conceptual de los términos involucrados para alcanzar una comprensión clara del tema.
