This paper discusses the clothing of the Serbian Orthodox Church believers at
the end of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first century. The
main goal was to determine whether there is a desirable/ideal model of
clothing for SOC believers, at the liturgy as well as the type and degree of
deviation from it in the daily practice of believers. The paper is based on
ethnographic material collected during the last five years in churches and
monasteries throughout Serbia using the method of observation,
semi-structured questionnaire, informal conversation and the use of
information from Orthodox forums and websites.
The paper presents a case study whose focus is on examining the relationship
among students of one fifth grade class during the period of combined
schooling in the school year 2020/2021. This schooling model was introduced
in order to enable appropriate physical distance among students in the
classroom. Also, this was one of the important preventiv measures of the
COVID-19 epidemic. Our intention is to check whether and to what extent the
application of this schooling model, which included the division of classes
into two groups, reflected on the mutual relations of students. We paid the
most attention to friend?s relations. This paper represents an
anthropological contribution to the issue of interpersonal relations among
children in condition when many relations in society have changed due to the
?new normality?.
Veronica officinalis is plant species used in traditional medicine worldwide, but its effects have not been investigated so far. Consequently, the aim of this research was to identify dominant compound in V. officinalis extracts and to determine the effect of ultrasound and extraction temperature on the content of that compound and total phenolic content. Moreover we investigated the correlation between the concentration of dominant compound and antiradical activity of tested extracts. The main compound in extracts was acteoside. Higher amount of total phenolics and acteoside were obtained using ultrasound-assisted extraction technique and higher temperatures. DPPH assay, which is used for measuring antiradical potential, showed that concentration of acteoside, as well as concentration of polyphenolic compounds, is directly correlated with antioxidative potentiality tested extracts.
