Flynn effect which advocated that there was a rise in the IQ score was widely accepted by the relevant scientific community. However, this effect has been reversed in recent years. In this study both Flynn and anti-Flynn effects were investigated. The purpose of this study is to determine the trend of students' general, verbal, and visual intelligence scores in the last 6 years (2016-2021). The participant of study included 2192 students who were first grade. To measure general, verbal, and visual intelligence of the participant, Anadolu-Sak Intelligence Scale (ASIS) was used. ASIS is the first intelligence test developed and standardized in Turkey. Participants’ mean of general, verbal, and visual intelligence scores in different years were compared by trend analysis. The research findings showed that there was a downward tendency in general, verbal, and visual scores between the years of 2016 to 2021. Moreover, our findings reveal that there is a sharp decrease between 2020 and 2021. Girls' GIQ, VIQ, and NIQ scores of 2021 showed a sharp decline compared to boys. As a result of this study, it can be said that the Flynn effect has gone into reversed.

Bu çalışmada sözel zekâyı sözel bellek, sözel muhakeme ve kelime bilgisi değişkenlerinden en çok yordayan değişkeni belirlemek hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmanın katılımcılarını ÜYEP Merkezi’nde zekâ testi uygulanan 315 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların sözel zekâ puanlarının elde edilmesinde Anadolu Sak Zekâ Ölçeği (ASİS) kullanılmıştır. ASİS’in Sözel Analojik Muhakeme (SAM), Sözel Kısa Süreli Bellek (SKB) ve Sözcükler-Anlamlar (SAN) alt testlerinden sözel zekâ puanı elde edilmektedir. SAM alt testi kristalize zekânın bir göstergesi iken soyut düşünme ve problem çözme becerilerini ölçmektedir. SKB alt testi, sözel kısa süreli bellek becerisini ölçmektedir. SAN alt testi ise kristalize zekâ, semantik bilgi, dil gelişimi, sözcük dağarcığı, sözcük akıcılığı ve anlama becerilerini test etmektedir. Yapılan regresyon analizinin sonucunda; SAM, SKB ve SAN alt testlerinde yer alan değişkenler dikkate alındığında, sözel zekâyı en çok yordayan değişkenin SAM alt testinde yer alan beceriler olduğu görülmektedir. Diğer bir ifadeyle sözel analojik muhakeme becerisinin sözel zekâya en çok katkı sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç olarak sözel analojik muhakeme becerisini oluşturan soyut düşünebilme ve problem çözme becerileri genel zekâya katkı sağlayan sözel zekânın en önemli yordayıcıları olarak bulunmuştur. Dolayısıyla çocukların sözel zekâlarını geliştirmek için eğitim faaliyetlerinin planlanmasında bu iki becerinin gelişimi ön planda tutulmalıdır.

This study presents the development of a mathematical creativity test and exploration of its psychometric properties. The study was conducted in six public schools and a high ability center between 2015 and 2018. The sample of the study included 1129 middle school students. The Mathematical Creativity Test (MCT) consists of problem posing, making conjecture, and proof subtests. Each test has two items. The scores of the MCT are composed of fluency, flexibility, and creativity quotient. For construct validity, EFA yielded a 3-factor solution, namely, problem posing, making conjecture, and proof subtests. CFA confirmed the 3-factor solution, and all fit indices were found to be good. For criterion validity, one-way ANOVA for independent samples was conducted in different classes, and it showed that there was a significant difference, and Pearson's correlation coefficient was investigated between MCT scores and the report card grades of the mathematics lesson. There was a strong and positive correlation between the two variables. The internal consistency and the interrater reliability of the test scores were high.
