Este artículo busca, a partir del análisis genealógico de dos familias de inmigrantes representantes de oleadas migratorias diferentes que convergieron en Chivilcoy, caracterizarlas según los lugares de origen, el contexto y las redes que configuraron. La finalidad, es abordar la coexistencia de situaciones en las que se tendía a reforzar el vínculo con connacionales y otras en las que primaba la integración entre los distintos grupos de migrantes con la población criolla. La superposición de migrantes recientes con más antiguos y con la población criolla permite observar modos de integración en algunos casos, pero no en todos y de asimilación o diferenciación según las circunstancias.
Para ello, partiremos del estudio de las trayectorias del inmigrante vasco-francés Francisco Duarte y del italiano meridional Pasqual Grisolia, que permiten observar las relaciones sociales en movimiento, al conjugar el tiempo corto del curso de sus vidas con procesos estructurales y con los cambios que se fueron dando en los traspasos generacionales. De este modo, tópicos tradicionales de los estudios migratorios como la endogamia y la participación civil se enriquecen al integrarlos al tiempo familiar y al colectivo.
