Online learning is a learning methodology implemented during the recent COVID-19 outbreaks.Lecturers and students need to use appropriate online platformsarising from the Movement Control Order (MCO) restrictions with effect from March 18, 2020, in Malaysia. In essence, the MCO prohibits Malaysians from attending to or organizing mass events or public gatherings, and where public and private educational institutions are concerned, they are not allowed to conduct any classesin situ. The only possible continuation of classes is via online learning. This case study had two research objectives: 1) Whatwere the challenges faced by educators when implementing online learning? and 2) How to overcome these challenges faced by educators in online learning? This study had applied the qualitative approach method, where researchers had distributed surveys, through a google platform, to a total of 20 educators. The results showed six (6) major challenges faced by educators in online learning, these being 1) students were less focused on online learning; 2) the platform/medium of learning was not satisfactory; 3) students left behind learning tools such as books and laptops in residential colleges; 4) students' internet access was less satisfactory to the extent that the lectures had to be extended from the actual time allocated; 5) educators' unstable internet access which disrupted the momentum of teaching; and 6) students did not attend the online courses. There were four (4) means to overcome these challenges 1) institutions to provide more comprehensive and e-learning platforms for online learning; 2) internet access for educators and students should be good to ensure smooth and uninterrupted online classes; 3) providing workshops or training programs on management of online classes for educators; and 4) for courses involving mathematical computation, in addition to a more suitable platform for teaching, the student population per group to be small in size to accommodate 10 educators while teaching. The results of this study shall benefit the management of private higher learning institutions and educators involved in online learning.

The purpose of this exploratory study is to understand the nature and multidimensional challenges of cross-cultural adjustment as experienced by female Malaysian self-initiated expatriates (SIE) working as registered nurses (RNs) in Saudi Arabia. In-depth interviews with twenty-two Malaysian SIE RNs provided rich data on their adjustment experiences. The resulting data were subjected to a qualitative content analysis using Black, Mendenhall, and Oddou's (Black et al., 1991) cross-cultural adjustment (CCA) model. The results show that the nurses faced several challenges. Five themes emerged: learning to speak Arabic, adapting to a confrontational communication style, facing new work practices, dealing with homesickness and loneliness, and adjusting to new gender norms at work and in public. This study contributes to our understanding of expatriate adjustment by providing new interpretations of the cultural challenges faced by female SIEs and the nature of their adjustment process. The results also support the literature on expatriation by highlighting the challenges of cultural adjustment and giving specific information on the conditions and constraints facing female RNs in Saudi Arabia, a subject that has received little critical attention so far.

Interestingly, dealers of smart phones need to understand what factors affect such demand, typical features as well as characteristics of the buyers. The main objective of this study is to understand how price, social influences, relative advantageand brand image affect demand of smart phones in the northern regions of Malaysia, where the State of Perlis has been chosen. The primary data of this study was collected by distributing randomly 120 sets of questionnaires to respondents who live in Perlis. The responses obtained were analyzed by several statistical tools namely frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation analysis, Cronbach’s Alpha Reliability test, Person Correlation Coefficient and Linear Regression Analysis, computed by a data software, Package for the Social Science (SPSS) version 17.0. This study revealed that price, social influences, relative advantage and brand image have significant relationships towards demand of smartphones. Detailed discussion of the study objectives, literature review, theories, research limitations, conclusions and finally some recommendations for future research study are given below. It is our hope that the results of the study can help mobile phone companies to have better understanding of the features of the smart phone market, be able to produce quality products and improve their marketing strategies.
Numerous terms have been associated with expat-preneurs, such as expatriates and Self-Initiated Expatriates (SIEs), in order to explore more about the exact terminology and other attributes. How do expat-preneurs brace themselves in adapting to their new environment, meet varied challenges, overcome an array of obstacles, and solving problems? This research study is to uncover the reality checks of typical expat-preneurs, exposing to the world what it takes to become an expat-preneur. The main objective of this research is to explore the truth about an expat-preneur’s lifestyles, specifically focusing on two main themes, Malaysian citizens that have become expat-preneurs and those opening their own business abroad. This study will focus on three main topics, these being factors affecting Malaysians to become expat-preneurs, obstacles that they faced when opening their business abroad, and lastly how they managed to overcome these obstacles. Five (5) Malaysian citizens staying and living abroad were selected as respondents to participate in the interview sessions and the selection was conducted by using a snowball sampling methodology. The respondents came from five (5) different countries, namely Qatar, Egypt, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. At the conclusion of the research study, the results show that the reasons why these Malaysian citizens became expat-preneurs were mainly due to (1) accompanying their spouses on overseas assignment, and (2) opportunity to earn side income while abroad. The obstacles most commonly faced when opening a business abroad were (1) financial problems, (2) marketing obstacles, and (3) no basic knowledge of business and management. It helps Malaysian expat-preneurs to comprehend an array of hardships before starting a business abroad.
