Este trabalho objetiva discutir como a compreensão empática, atitude facilitadora do crescimento humano desenvolvida por Carl Rogers, se configura como uma agir ético no cuidado em saúde mental. Para isso, realizou-se um breve percurso histórico do campo da assistência à pessoa em sofrimento psíquico, partindo do modelo manicomial nascido nos hospitais psiquiátricos, e, posteriormente, passando pelas diversas reformas em saúde mental pelo mundo, até chegarmos ao atual modelo de atenção psicossocial, que se apresenta como um contexto propício para a emergência do agir ético. Apresenta-se a ideia de que no modelo manicomial não era possível sustentar uma dimensão ética no âmbito relacional, visto que o antigo paradigma psiquiátrico privilegiava o transtorno mental em detrimento da pessoa. Por fim, foram analisados aspectos referentes ao conceito de empatia e o diálogo possível com a ética levinasiana, cujas aproximações permitem inferir que a compreensão empática rogeriana se configura como uma atitude essencialmente ética.
O estudo teve como objetivo analisar as evidências científicas que tratam sobre a violência ocupacional na saúde e as interfaces com as condições e organização do trabalho. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa considerando artigos originais publicados em periódicos nacionais e internacionais. Foram cruzados os descritores “Violência no Trabalho”, “Saúde do Trabalhador” e “Atenção Básica à Saúde”, no período de 2008 a 2018. O tipo de violência ocupacional mais prevalente foi a física, seguida da violência psicológica; os pacientes foram os principais perpetradores, seguidos dos próprios colegas de trabalho. Investimentos nas condições e organização do trabalho reduzem as chances de violência no local de trabalho. Há necessidade de desenvolver estratégias organizacionais e políticas em geral para a proteção dos profissionais de saúde. A violência ocupacional é multicausal, com repercussões negativas no contexto laboral dos trabalhadores violentados. Dessa maneira, o maior envolvimento de gestores públicos e ações de planejamento estratégico podem auxiliar com mudanças desse paradigma.
