Bir binanın mimari formu, cephenin çevreyle etkileşimini tanımlamaktadır. Etkileşimli bir bileşen olan kinetik cepheler, en uygun yönlendirmeyi ve yapılandırmayı tespit etmek için gerçek zamanlı hareketler kullanmaktadırlar. Kullanıcı aktivitelerini ve davranışlarını öğrenerek ve bunlara uyum sağlayarak termal ve görsel konfor, yapay ışığı azaltma, güneş takibi ve elektrik üretme gibi fonksiyonlar sunmaktadırlar. Ancak kinetik cephelerin tasarlanırken amaçlanan performansın sonuç üründe elde edilmesinin sağlanabilmesi için doğru modelleme araçlarının ve yöntemlerinin seçilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle, interaktif cephe geometrisi oluştururken en uygun yönlendirmeyi ve yapılandırmayı sağlayan, yüksek performanslı, çevreye duyarlı alternatifler tespit edilmesi için farklı modelleme yöntemlerinin uygulanması bir gereklilik haline gelmektedir. Bu çalışma çevre koşullarına ve tasarım ilkelerine uyum sağlayan çevre dostu kinetik sistemli bina cephelerinin modelleme yöntemlerini sunmaktadır. Çalışmada, ilk önce parametrik tasarımın kinetik cepheyle ilişkisi ortaya konulmuştur. Sonrasında, 2000'den 2020'ye kadar incelenen 20 çalışmadan elde edilen modelleme yöntemleri sunulmuş ve bu yöntemlerin avantajlarından bahsedilmiştir. Kinetik cepheleri parametrik tasarım ile modelleme yöntemlerinden yararlanılarak oluşturulan çalışmalar evrimsel tabanlı modeller ve şekil gramerleriyle oluşturulan modeller olarak 2 farklı modelleme yöntemi altında detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Çalışma, parametrik tasarım ile oluşturulan kinetik cephe tasarımlarında en uygun cephe geometrisine ulaşılabilmek için uygulanabilecek modelleme yöntemlerine girdi oluşturmakta ve bir çerçeve sunmaktadır.
