Hitabet, insanlık tarihinin en kadim iletişim şeklidir. Soyut bir ifade aracı olan konuşma-hitabetin somut bir hale bürünmesi (sembolleşmesi) yazının icadı ile olmuştur. Beş bin yıldan uzun bir süredir en önemli ve temel simgesel-somut iletişim aracı olan yazı, özellikle doğu toplumlarında aynı zamanda tezyini bir mahiyet de üstlenmiştir. Bir iletişim nesnesi ve süsleme çeşidi olmasının dışında yazı; bir dışavurum aracı olarak, bu iki temel misyonunun dışında bir kullanım şekline de sahiptir. Makalede böyle bir kullanım şekline sahip olan Akşehir Taş Medrese'de (Taş Eserler Müzesi), avlu revak sütunları ile ana eyvanda yer alan ve kazıma tekniğiyle yazılmış yazılar tespit edilmiş, kayıt altına alınmış ve çözümlenmiştir. Akşehir Taş Medrese, Konya İli Akşehir İlçesi Altınkalem Mahallesi Eski Afyon Caddesi üzerinde yer almaktadır. Bir külliye mantığında inşa edilmiş yapılar topluluğundan hankâh, imaret, çeşme ve hamam yıkılmış olup, günümüzde medrese, türbe, iki şerefeli minare, darülkurra ve mescittenoluşmaktadır. Yapılar topluluğunun, "Halkalı Medrese" olarak da bilinen medrese kısmı günümüzde Taş Eserler Müzesi olarak hizmet vermektedir. Makalede, Akşehir Taş Medrese'de (Taş Eserler Müzesi), avlu revak sütunları ile ana eyvanda yer alan ve kazıma tekniğiyle yapılmış yazılar, süsleme özellikleri ile değil, bir dışavurum aracı olarak mimari ile olan ilişkileri ve ihtiva ettikleri anlamları sadedinde ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın katalog kısmında yazıların transkripsiyonu yapılmış, değerlendirme bölümünde anlam boyutu itibariyle irdelenmiş ve özellikle tasavvuf düşüncesi ve alevibektaşi kültürü bağlamında çıkarımlarda bulunulmuştur.
