SUMMARY.When libraries acquire electronic resources there is often no tangible item received; and managing the selection, ordering, receiving, access to and payments for these resources frequently requires mechanisms different from those used for standard printed resources. This workshop described the rationale, structure and use of the ERLIC database created by the Acquisitions staff at Pennsylvania State University Libraries in an effort to better manage their electronic resources. The workshop was divided into three parts: rationale behind the development of the database, a demonstration of the database, and a discussion period.
