Der Beitrag beleuchtet körperliche Berührung als Intervention im psychotherapeutischen Prozess. Es gibt hierzu wenige empirische Daten, die meisten stammen aus den 1990er Jahren. Grundlage des vorliegenden Artikels ist die Master-These (MT) zum Thema Berührung von Bernhard Siller aus dem Jahre 2021. Die Datenerhebung erfolgte als Leitfadeninterviews mit fünf Expert_innen. Die Daten wurden zuerst im Rahmen der MT mittels qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet und für diesen Artikel von einer weiteren Autorin davon unabhängig einer kritisch-hermeneutischen Analyse unterzogen. Als Ergebnis zeigt sich, dass die Expert_innen eine Vielzahl von Einsatzmöglichkeiten für Berührung beschreiben, die als eine wirkungsvolle, einzigartige Intervention mit entsprechenden Indikationen und Kontraindikationen bewertet wird. Auf das mögliche Triggerund Re-Traumatisierungspotenzial und der daraus resultierenden Notwendigkeit, das Prinzip »informed consent« besonders zu beachten, wird hingewiesen. Der in der MT nicht thematisierte Machtaspekt in der therapeutischen Beziehung wird in der kritisch-hermeneutischen Analyse aufgegriffen. Um ein genaueres Bild von den tatsächlichen Benefits und Risiken von leiblicher Berührung zu erhalten, wären aktuelle Befragungen mit Patient_innen notwendig.
