Disaster hazards are human and nature-induced events that cause disaster to occur. Any event that does not affect humanity is not considered as a disaster hazard. In order for any event to turn into a disaster, it must affect people or the assets of people. Disaster hazards may occur alone or in succession in some cases. This situation may develop according to the physical characteristics of the places where disaster hazards are observed or the human activity conditions. While it is very difficult to cope with the disaster hazards that arise from only one source, it is so difficult to deal with the disaster hazards that occur one after another, or in chain, and cause each other to occur. Therefore, in disaster risk management, it is very important to examine component or disasters affecting each other and to reveal their interaction mechanisms. Thus, in this study, the triggering mechanisms of disaster hazards and their vulnerability were examined.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
