Bu çalışmanın amacı, spor medyası hakkındaki görüşlerin cinsiyete göre karşılaştırılmasıdır. Çalışmaya 18-40 yaş grubu, Türkiye' de yaşayan ve spor medyasını takip eden 73 kadın (yaş ortalaması: 32,97±15,50 yıl) 77 erkek (yaş ortalaması: 29,51±10,83 yıl) gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Bu çalışmada tarama ve tanımlayıcı yöntem kullanılmıştır. Katılımcılara 42 sorudan oluşan ve alanyazın taraması sonucunda araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan anket Google Form aracılığıyla ulaştırılmış ve çalışmanın verileri çevrimiçi olarak toplanmıştır. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 20,0 paket programına kaydedilmiş verilerin sayısal ve yüzde dağılımları hesaplanmıştır. Normal dağılıma uygunluk Kolmogorov-Smirnov testi ile değerlendirilmiştir (p>0.05). Tüm verilerin cinsiyetler arası farkları, Independent t-test analizi ile tespit edilmiştir. Anlamlılık düzeyi p<0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Cinsiyetler arasında, spor programlarını takip etme sıklığı (p=0.011), spor medyasını takip etme amacı (p=0.009), aktif kullanılan sosyal medya platformunda (p=0.006) farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Cinsiyetler arasında spor gazetesini satın alma, tercih ettiği medya türünde ve spor medyasında en çok yer verilen spor branşında anlamlı farklılığa rastlanmamıştır (p>0.05). Sonuç olarak, kadınların spor medyasını takip etme amacı bilgi sahibi olmak iken, erkeklerin amacının eğlence olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Katılımcıların çoğunun spor gazetesini almadığı, en güvenilir iletişim aracının televizyon olduğu ve spor medyasında en çok yer verilen spor branşının futbol olduğu görülmüştür.
