No ano de 2020 celebrou-se o bicentenário do nascimento da pioneira da Enfermagem, Florence Nightingale. Para além disto, nesse preciso ano, emergiu a pandemia de COVID-19, reforçando o valor e a importância dos enfermeiros. Deste modo, pretendemos analisar as práticas adotadas por Florence Nightingale na guerra da Crimeia e pelos enfermeiros no controlo da pandemia por SARS-CoV-2, salientando a importância do papel da educação em saúde. Assim, realizou-se uma revisão de 12 artigos de língua portuguesa e inglesa, publicados nos últimos 5 anos nas bases de dados CINAHL, MEDLINE, Academic Search, MedicLatina, via EBSCO, e ainda na SciELO. Conclui-se que, apesar da evolução tecnológica que emergiu nos últimos anos, as práticas e princípios de Florence Nightingale perduram até hoje, globalmente, como boas práticas de prevenção e controle de infecções.
Introdução: Com a pandemia do novo coronavírus, o cotidiano de grande parte da população sofreu expressivas mudanças e, como fruto do isolamento gerado no período de quarentena, a violência contra mulher aumentou consideravelmente, à medida que o tempo de exposição ao seu agressor crescia. Objetivo: Analisar o impacto da pandemia de COVID-19 para a mulher em situação de violência doméstica. Método: Revisão integrativa de literatura realizada por meio de buscas nas bases de dados LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE e SciELO. Foram incluídos no estudo artigos nacionais e internacionais que abordaram o tema violência doméstica em tempos de pandemia. Resultados: Após seleção pela análise de títulos e respectivos resumos, adotados critérios de exclusão, extraídos aqueles em duplicidade e os que não estavam em consonância com a temática proposta, restaram 26 publicações. Foi realizada a leitura na íntegra e assim foram categorizadas em 5 temas relevantes por se sobressaírem no conteúdo das publicações. Conclusão: Os artigos selecionados evidenciam os fatores desencadeantes da violência doméstica juntamente com seus impactos, as estratégias versáteis e medidas organizacionais adotadas para enfrentar o problema e a importância do profissional de enfermagem e das unidades de saúde no atendimento à mulher vítima de agressão conjugal.
