Introdução: A dermatofitose é uma infecção cutânea superficial que atinge o estrato córneo e tecidos queratinizados causada por fungos dermatófitos, os principais fungos causadores são o Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum e Trichophyton mentagrophytes. A dermatofitose é uma zoonose de distribuição cosmopolita que atinge principalmente cães, gatos e humanos devido a sua relação íntima, se apresenta em forma de lesões circulares, eritematosas, de crescimento centrífugo e acompanhadas ou não de prurido. Objetivos: Objetivou- se com a realização deste trabalho evidenciar o conhecimento de tutores de cães e gatos a respeito da dermatofitose com foco na sua transmissão e prevenção. Materiais e métodos: O estudo foi realizado de forma remota por meio de questionário com cinco perguntas afirmativas e de múltipla escolha através da plataforma Google Formulários, concedido por link em redes sociais. O estudo teve caráter quantitativo com população amostral de 128 pessoas no período de 28 de Junho a 05 de Julho de 2021. Resultados: 92,2% dos participantes são tutores de cães ou gatos. 71,9% já apresentaram a doença ou conhecem algum caso de dermatofitose e 28,1% não têm conhecimento. Sobre os animais que podem transmitir a dermatofitose, os participantes afirmam: cães e gatos (43%); gatos, cães, coelhos e roedores (32,8%); apenas gatos (21,9%); alegaram não saber a resposta (2,4%). Referente às formas de transmissão do fungo, alegaram que ocorrem por: contato indireto por fômites (68,8%); contato direto com animal contaminado (52,3%); brigas entre animais contaminados (37,5%); cavar e arranhar solo e árvores contaminadas (15,6%). A respeito das formas de prevenção, assinalaram: isolar animais infectados dos sadios (73,4%); limpeza do ambiente com hipoclorito de sódio ou alvejante (71,9%); limitar acesso do animal a rua e evitar contato com animais que podem estar contaminados (57,8%); usar luvas ao manejar animais infectados (57%); diagnóstico e tratamento precoce (48,4%); castração (7%). Conclusão: Portanto, fica evidente que os tutores não possuem conhecimento necessário a respeito da dermatofitose, principalmente sobre suas formas de transmissão, sendo necessário elaboração de políticas de conscientização e educação a respeito das dermatopatias zoonóticas.
Introdução: Na medicina veterinária a ultrassonografia gestacional possui diversas aplicabilidades, permitindo não só a confirmação da gestação como também, o acompanhamento da prenhez, a detecção precoce de malformações, avaliação da viabilidade fetal, entre outras. Objetivos: Este estudo tem como principal objetivo evidenciar a percepção da sociedade sobre a importância da ultrassonografia gestacional em cadelas e gatas, por meio de coleta e análise de dados. Materiais e métodos: O estudo foi desenvolvido de forma remota, por meio de questionário na plataforma Google Formulários e distribuição do link em redes sociais, com seis perguntas afirmativas e de múltipla escolha. O estudo teve caráter quantitativo, no qual a população amostral foi de 103 pessoas, no período de 25 de junho à 04 de julho de 2021. Resultados: 54,4% dos tutores afirmaram já ter levado seu animal para realizar a ultrassonografia abdominal, enquanto 45,6% afirmam nunca ter realizado esse exame. 92,2% dos participantes confirmam a importância da ultrassonografia para o acompanhamento gestacional, embora quando questionados se realizariam o exame para acompanhar a gestação, 34% dos tutores afirmam que talvez levariam e, 4,9% afirmam que não levariam. Os tutores que responderam “talvez” ou “não” justificam sua decisão por: exame de alto custo (44,7%); exame inviável em sua região (55,3%); não acreditar que mostre alterações precisas (23,7%) e, apenas realizaram se o animal apresentasse anormalidades ou alterações visíveis (15,8%). 61,2% das pessoas afirmam realizar o exame gestacional para os seguintes motivos: estimar quantidade de fetos (62,2%); investigar possíveis distocias (60,8%); analisar a viabilidade fetal (58,1%); estimar tempo de gestação (55,4%) e observar fetos mortos (44,6%). Conclusão: Portanto, evidencia-se que, apesar da maioria dos participantes compreenderem a importância da ultrassonografia para o acompanhamento gestacional em cadelas e gatas, ainda existe uma relutância em realizar este procedimento de forma rotineira no período pré-natal, visto que a ultrassonografia gestacional é de extrema importância para o acompanhamento e desenvolvimento fetal e detecção de possíveis anomalias e alterações da gestante e do feto.
