O Diabetes Mellitus (DM) pode ser entendido como um grupo de doenças metabólicas, caracterizado pelo aumento nos níveis de glicose sanguínea, devido a um distúrbio na secreção ou na ação da insulina. Segundo alguns estudos a DM é um fator prevalente para COVID-19 (Doença Coronavírus 2019). O Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 (DM2) é um dos problemas de saúde mais desafiadores do século 21. Frente a este cenário o objetivo deste trabalho é aplicar o Questionário de Atividades de autocuidado com o Diabetes (QAD) em voluntários portadores de DM2 durante a pandemia do COVID-19. O estudo foi realizado no município de Poço Fundo/MG e os voluntários foram convidados nas unidades do Programa Saúde da Família (PSF) do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). O QAD possui 15 itens de avaliação do autocuidado com o DM, distribuídos em sete dimensões: “alimentação geral”, “alimentação específica”, “atividade física”, “monitorização da glicemia”, “cuidado com os pés” e “uso da medicação”. Incluem também outros três itens para a avaliação do tabagismo. Foi realizada a correlação de Spearman e análise descritiva para a interpretação dos dados. Concluímos que o QAD é um instrumento confiável para mensurar a aderência ao autocuidado em voluntários diabéticos tipo 2. Através deste questionário podemos observar que os voluntários conheceram alguns cuidados importantes e acreditamos que a partir daí possam torná-los parte da sua rotina.
