O setor de beneficiamento de tecidos, no qual se inclui o tingimento é um dos mais impactantes do setor têxtil, em função da grande quantidade de água e químicos usados como corantes e fixadores. Este projeto teve como objetivo apresentar a utilização de corantes naturais como uma alternativa de minimização dos impactos ambientais do processo de tingimento de artigos têxteis. Com o uso dessa classe de corantes consequentemente reduz a comercialização e uso de matérias-primas sintéticas na confecção dos produtos, uma vez em que, para o tingimento natural aderir a fibra é necessário que a mesma seja de origem animal ou vegetal. Por meio dos resultados significativos nos diferentes materiais têxteis através da utilização dos corantes naturais, constata-se a viabilidade da substituição dos corantes químicos, tornado possível atingir uma Produção mais Limpa (PmaisL), a qual visa reduzir os impactos negativos gerados ao meio ambiente no ciclo de vida dos produtos.
Este artigo tem por objetivo abordar o uso de corantes naturais no setor têxtil, propondo um método de tingimento com materiais benéficos ao meio ambiente, comprovando que além de produzir resíduos que promovem menor impacto ambiental, é essencial para tornar a indústria têxtil mais sustentável. A pesquisa apresenta uma metodologia baseada na extração e preparo dos corantes naturais e como resultado a pesquisa traz resultados satisfatórios a serem aplicados em larga escala.
