Introdução: A Organização Mundial da Saúde define parto prematuro aquele que acontece antes da 37ª semana gestacional. A prematuridade limita os processos de maturação cerebral e o aumento da sobrevida do recém-nascido, traz possíveis agravos futuros, consequência da própria imaturidade de órgãos e o baixo peso ao nascer. Em virtude dessa imaturidade de órgãos e sistemas o recém-nascido prematuro necessita de suporte ventilatório e seu uso prolongado causa complicações como a displasia broncopulmonar. As repercussões respiratórias somadas ao longos períodos de internação em Unidades de Terapia Intensiva Neonatais pode ainda restringir o desenvolvimento infantil causando no neonato alterações musculoesqueléticas e neurocomportamentais. Objetivo: Avaliar o desenvolvimento motor e comportamental de lactentes broncodisplásicos. Métodos: Este estudo tratou-se de uma série de casos, realizada com 5 lactentes internados na Unidade de Cuidados Intermediários Neotanal Convencional (UCINCO) da Maternidade Escola Assis Chateaubriand (MEAC) localizada no município de Fortaleza- CE. A coleta ocorreu nos meses de janeiro a maio de 2021 e foram incluídos na pesquisa lactentes internados no hospital de estudo com diagnóstico de displasia broncopulmonar, de ambos os gêneros, sendo excluídas crianças que apresentassem outras patologias associadas. As crianças foram caracterizadas de acordo com uma ficha de dados pré, peri e pós-natais e avaliados pela Escala Motora Infantil Alberta (AIMS) e Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Network Neurobehavioral Scale (NNNS) adaptada. Resultados: Observou-se, quanto ao tipo de parto, a cesariana como via predominante nos nascimentos prematuros correspondendo a 80% dos casos, 80% das mães eram multíparas e todas realizaram pré-natal com o mínimo de 6 consultas. Houve uma maior incidência com 60% dos lactentes do gênero feminino, 60% da população estudada teve alguma intercorrência, peso ao nascimento variou entre 765g e 1.320g, 40% eram adequados a idade gestacional (AIG) e 40% pequeno para idade gestacional (PIG). O tempo de internação variou de 71 a 112 dias, sendo que 60% encontravam-se com mais de 81 dias internados. O índice de Apgar no 5º minuto em 100% dos lactentes estavam entre 7 a 10. Para a avaliação da AIMS a idade corrigida variou entre 37 semanas e 21 dias, em nossos resultados todos os lactentes apresentaram resultados entre 25th e 50th mostrando normalidade nos resultados. Conclusão: A displasia broncopulmonar associada a alguns fatores pré e pós-natais pode ser considerada um fator risco para o atraso do desenvolvimento motor e comportamental em lactentes nascidos prematuramente e com baixo peso.
