Bu çalışmanın başlıca amacı fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin pandemi döneminde yürütülen uzaktan eğitim uygulamalarına yönelik ihtiyaçlarının swot analizi ile incelenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 23 fen bilimleri öğretmeninin konu hakkındaki görüşüne başvurulmuştur. Elde edilen görüşler Swot analizinin dört temel teması olan güçlü yönler, zayıf yönler, fırsatlar ve tehditler temaları altında yüzde (%) ve frekans (f) olarak incelenmiştir. Öğretmenlerden elde edilen görüşler sonucunda pandemi döneminde fen bilimleri dersinin uzaktan eğitim uygulamaları ile yürütülmesinin güçlü yönlerine ilişkin olarak; teknolojinin imkanlarından yararlanılabilmesine olanak tanıması, sürenin etkili kullanılmasına imkan verdiği, farklı kaynaklara ulaşılabilmesine imkan tanıdığı, bireysel öğrenme fırsatı yarattığı, zaman ve enerji tasarrufu sağlamakla birlikte disiplin problemlerini ortadan kaldırma noktalarında faydalı olduğunu ifade etmektedirler. Zayıf yönlerine ilişkin olarak ise, uygulamalı dersler için zor olduğu, tüm öğrencilere ulaşılamamasına neden olduğu, öğrencilerle iletişim kurulamaması, yeterli teknolojik donanıma sahip olunmaması, sınıf yönetiminde zorluk yaşanması ve derslerin teorikte kalması olduğunu ifade etmektedirler. Fırsatlar bağlamında incelendiğinde, teknoloji kullanım yeterlililiğini geliştirmesi, farklı eğitim imkanlarına ulaşılabilmesine olanak tanıması, bilgiye ulaşım kolaylığı sağlaması, okula gitmek için zaman harcanmaması ve bireysel öğrenme alanlarını arttırdığını ifade etmektedirler.Son olarak tehditler bağlamında incelendiğinde ise; güvenlik tehdidi yaratması, dış etkenlerin dersi engellemesi, iletişimin azalması, ölçme değerlendirmenin adil yapılamaması, yaparak yaşayarak öğrenme ortamının olmaması, konuların tam olarak öğretilememesi ve sosyalleşmenin azalması olarak ifade ettikleri tespit edilmiştir.
