Along the coast of West Aceh, there are many coconut plantations. Up to the present, people use coconut only as copra, coconut oil and as a drink, while coco fiber is rarely used for other purposes. In addition, resources of the materials are plenti considering the extensive beach length along the west coast of Aceh. Furthermore, there are also long rivers and swamps which can also be a source of community economic income from conch cultivation. Loans are consumed a lot for food, whereas clamp shells are still not optimally utilized. Researchers are trying to utilize this clamp shell as a filler for asphalt mixture. This study aims to determine the characteristics of asphalt concrete mix using lokan shell ash and coconut coir ash as a filler. The method used is Road Construction of Public Works Deparment (Bina marga), by making two scenarios of laboratory experiments. The first test with a variation of cement and shell ash 20: 80% and 50: 50%. The second test is the variation of cement and coconut fiber ash with a ratio of 60: 40% and 50: 50%. The optimum bitumen content obtained from testing variation 1 is 4.1% and 4.9%. From variation 2, the optimum asphalt content is 4,8% and 4,4%. The use of the variation of cement filler and shell ash ash is found to have a higher stability value compared to the use of coconut fiber. This research reveals that the use of variations of filler ash shell can be said to be better if used in heavy traffic.
Simpang Empat Jeuram Nagan Raya sering disebutkan oleh masyarakat setempat ”Simpang Peut” merupakan jalur utama jalan arteri kota melayani pergerakan lalu lintas antar kabupaten atau antar provinsi, yang berada di Kecamatan Kuala Kabupaten Nagan Raya. Simpang tersebut memiliki empat lengan, melayani arus 4 lajur jalan utama bermedian dan 2 lajur jalan minor menghubungkan jalur arah perkantoran, perumahan penduduk, perdagangan dan sebagai jalur menuju ke pusat kota. Permasalahan diangkat dan juga menjadi tujuan penelitian bagaimana kinerja persimpangan terhadap volume lalu lintas terjadi di empat lengan dan membedakan selisih perhitungan sekarang terhadap penelitian terdahulu. Batasan pembahasan yakni lokasi penelitian di Simpang Empat Jeuram, kinerja simpang berdasarkan metode HCM 1993, hambatan samping dan tidak memperkirakan penelitian terdahulu. Berdasarkan hasil, volume arus yang terjadi 3.310 smp/jam dengan komposisi arus kendaraan 2.789 smp/jam. Kapasitas 4.009 smp/jam berada diatas volume yang ada dikategorikan tidak macet atau tidak jenuh. Hambatan samping 1.328 kejadian dikategorikan daerah niaga dan aktivitas pasar sisi jalan sangat tinggi. Derajat kejenuhan 0.70 < DS (DS < 0.80 - 0.90) dengan rata-rata delay 7.95 detik/smp dan panjang antrian 40% - 20% dengan tingkat pelayanan D dimana arus tidak stabil dan kadang harus memperlambat kecepatan 43 km/jam. Terkait penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan hasil signifikan, karena peningkatan kendaraan terus meningkat 75% dalam kurun waktu 3 tahun terakhir.
The quality of pavement is influenced by good quality materials. Alternative materials can be used to increase the adhesion and viscosity of asphalt, including the using of latex and waste materials. The using of waste materials from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in addition to reducing environmental pollution problems is also expected to be an added material to improve the performance of asphalt. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using PVC on the asphalt mixture. The specification refers to the Bina Marga 2018 method, by making the specimen of three variations of PVC. The variations of PVC are 3%, 4% and 6%. The results of the Marshall test showed that the optimum asphalt content was 6.5%; 5.8% and 6%. The result of 30 minutes immersion Marshall test at 3% variation is 1,367.91 kg, at 4% variation is 1,283.84 kg and 6% variation are 1,225.81 kg. The durability value for three variation is 94.75%, 92.54% and 93.85%. The using of PVC as an additive indicated that the addition of PVC to the asphalt mixture can provide better durability but the higher the PVC as a additive can reduce stability because the void in mixture is low.
