This paper provides a solution to generalize the integrator and the integral control action. It is achieved by defining two function sets to generalize the integrator and the integral control action, respectively, resorting to a stabilizing controller and adopting Lyapunov method to analyze the stability of the closed-loop system. By originating a powerful Lyapunov function, a universal theorem to ensure regionally as well as semi-globally asymptotic stability is established by some bounded information. Consequently, the justification of two propositions on the generalization of integrator and integral control action is verified. Moreover, the conditions used to define the function sets can be viewed as a class of sufficient conditions to design the integrator and the integral control action, respectively.
In this paper, a class of fire-new general integral control, named general concave integral control, is proposed. It is derived by normalizing the bounded integral control action and concave function gain integrator, introducing the partial derivative of Lyapunov function into the integrator and originating a class of new strategy to transform ordinary control into general integral control. By using Lyapunov method along with LaSalle's invariance principle, the theorem to ensure regionally as well as semi-globally asymptotic stability is established only by some bounded information. Moreover, the highlight point of this integral control strategy is that the integrator output could tend to infinity but the integral control action is finite. Therefore, a simple and ingenious method to design general integral control is founded. Simulation results showed that under the normal and perturbed cases, the optimum response in the whole domain of interest can all be achieved by a set of the same control gains, even under the case that the payload is changed abruptly.
This note proposes a systematic and more generic method to construct general bounded integral control. It is established by defining three new function sets and citing two function sets to construct three kinds of general bounded integral control actions and integrators, resorting to a universal strategy to transform ordinary control into general integral control and adopting Lyapunov method to analyze the stability of the closed-loop system. A universal theorem to ensure regionally as well as semi-globally asymptotic stability is provided in terms of some bounded information, and even does not need exact knowledge of Lyapunov function. Its one feature is that the indispensable element used to construct the general integrator can be taken as any integrable function, which satisfies Lipschitz condition and the self excited integral dynamic is asymptotically stable. Another feature is that the method to construct general bounded integral control action is extended to a wider function set. Based on this method, the control engineers not only can choose the most appropriate control law in hand but also have more freedom to construct the bounded integral control actions and integrators, and then a high performance integral controller is more easily found. As a result, the generalization of the bounded integral control is achieved.
In conjunction with linear general integral control, this paper proposes a fire-new control design technique, named Equal ratio gain technique, and then develops two kinds of control design methods, that is, Decomposition and Synthetic methods, for a class of uncertain nonlinear system. By Routh's stability criterion, we demonstrate that a canonical system matrix can be designed to be always Hurwitz as any row controller gains, or controller and its integrator gains increase with the same ratio. By solving Lyapunov equation, we demonstrate that as any row controller gains, or controller and its integrator gains of a canonical system matrix tend to infinity with the same ratio, if it is always Hurwitz, and then the same row solutions of Lyapunov equation all tend to zero. By Equal ratio gain technique and Lyapunov method, theorems to ensure semi-globally asymptotic stability are established in terms of some bounded information. Moreover, the striking robustness of linear general integral control and PID control is clearly illustrated by Equal ratio gain technique. Theoretical analysis, design example and simulation results showed that Equal ratio gain technique is a powerful tool to solve the control design problem of uncertain nonlinear system.
Based on the feedback linearization technique, we present a systematic design method for the General Integral Control and a new integral control strategy along with a class of fire-new integrator. By using the linear system theory and Lyapunov method along with LaSalle's invariance principle, the conditions on the control gains to ensure regionally as well as semi-globally asymptotic stability are provided. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrated that: by using this design method, General Integral Control can deal with nonlinearity and uncertainties of dynamics more effectively; the optimum response can be achieved in the whole control domain, even under uncertain payload and varying-time disturbances. This means that General Integral Control has strong robustness, fast convergence, good flexibility, and then makes the engineers design a high performance controller more easily.
This paper proposes a systematic method to design general integral control with the generic integrator and integral control action. No longer resorting to an ordinary control along with a known Lyapunov function, but synthesizing singular perturbation technique, mean value theorem, stability theorem of interval matrix and Lyapunov method, a universal theorem to ensure regionally as well as semi-globally asymptotic stability is established in terms of some bounded information. Its highlight point is that the error of integrator output can be used to stabilize the system, just like the system state, such that it does not need to take an extra and special effort to deal with the integral dynamic. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrated that: general integral controller, which is tuned by this design method, has super strong robustness and can deal with nonlinearity and uncertainties of dynamics more forcefully.
This paper proposes two kinds of nonlinear general integral controllers, that is, one is generic and another is practical, for a class of uncertain nonlinear system. By extending equal ratio gain technique to a canonical interval system matrix and using Lyapunov method, theorems to ensure regionally as well as semi-globally asymptotic stability are established in terms of some bounded information. Moreover, for the practical nonlinear integral controller, a real time method to evaluate the equal ratio coefficient is proposed such that its value can be chosen moderately. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrated that not only nonlinear general integral control can effectively deal with the uncertain nonlinear system but also equal ratio gain technique is a powerful and practical tool to solve the control design problem of dynamics with the nonlinear and uncertain actions.
In this paper, a kind of fire new nonlinear integrator and integral action is proposed. Consequently, a conventional Proportional Nonlinear Integral (P_NI) observer and two kinds of added-order P_NI observers are developed to deal with the uncertain nonlinear system. The conditions on the observer gains to ensure the estimated error to be ultimate boundness, which shrinks to zero as the states and control inputs converge to the equilibrium point, are provided. This means that if the observed system is asymptotically stable, the estimated error dynamics is asymptotically stable, too. Moreover, the highlight point of this paper is that the design of nonlinear integral observer is achieved by linear system theory. Simulation results showed that under the normal and perturbed cases, the pure added-order P_NI observer can effectively deal with the uncertain nonlinearities on both the system dynamics and measured outputs.
