The energy depender ce of the anguIar correlation of the cascade 2 (723 keV P particle)-2 (1260 keV p ray)0+ in the decay of 2Sb i.s measured and found to agree with the reports of Baghavan et al. and Yamada et al, . Nuclear matrix elements governing the 723 keV P transition are extracted using the available experimental data on this transition. Buhring's formulas that are simpIified by Simms are used in the analysis. It is observed that the contribution of the nondiagonal elements to the Coulomb Hamiltonian is significant. RADIOACTIVITY Sb; measured Py(0); deduced P decay nuclear matrix elements.
The angular correlation of the 7/2-~9/2 + lt4keVX ,7/2 + is measured at Ea = 300 keY and found to be A2(/~,7)=0.108_+0.028. The result is combined with the data on longitudinal polarisation nuclear orientation to obtain the nuclear matrix elements which would give a simultaneous fit to all experimental data. The matrix elements thus obtained have predicted the/~ spectrum shape correction factor. The sizes of the matrix elements indicate a cancellation effect in vector matrix elements which explains deviation from i-approximation. From the ratio of higher order matrix elements, 2, the deviation from the CVC ratio due to Fujita is found and thus the importance of off-diagonal elements in H C is noted. The experimental matrix elements are compared with the modelpredicted ones.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
