Today, concrete is an essential part in the construction. The integral property of concrete is that it deteriorates with exposure to environmental agents and also due to sustained loading. Re-placement of these deteriorated structures is becoming more and more expensive as costs of materials and labor keeps on increasing. To reverse the deterioration, damage and defects in the damaged structural members, repairing of concrete is important. Conventional cement mortar has been a popular worldwide repair material for decades. However, cement mortar has certain demerits. To reduce these drawbacks, polymers have been utilized as an additive [1]. They are effective and represent an increasingly economical solution. Polymer is a complex matter in which many small sub-units called monomers which may have same chemical proportion or different are combined together [2]. Polymer mortar is a mixture in which polymer is added as an admixture to the conventional cement mortar. The polymers are present in various forms like latexes, emulsions, pulverized form and
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
