The ferrite powders of nominal composition Cu0.5ZnxNi0.5-xFe2O4 were synthesised by sol-gel auto combustion method using citric acid as an oxidising agent and the values of x are varied as x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5. The process resulted in the formation of nano-sized, highly uniform powders. The ferrite powders were sintered at 1000 0 C. These synthesized and heat treated powders were investigated for their structural properties such as phase purity and particle size. The average grain size obtained from XRD data in the heat treated samples is in the nano range. The ferrites are found to be soft ferrites as revealed from hysteresis data. Also, the coercively and retentivity values are small. These soft ferrites can be used for various electrical and magnetic applications.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
