A cavity-backed circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna excited by an asymmetrical U-slot is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The finite-difference time-domain method using nonuniform orthogonal grids is employed to study the new configuration, with the excitation modeled by the independent resistive voltage source. The return loss, input impedance, axial ratio, and radiation pattern of the antenna are studied. Reasonable agreement between theory and experiment is obtained.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
