The design of system level interconnects to meet signal integrity objectives is a challenging problem. This paper presents moment based techniques for optimal termination of transmission lines. Since obtaining moments of a circuit has been shown to be a computationally eficient task, this method provides a means to account for the effects of loading conditions along the line, loss in the line, input signal risetime, and direrent net topologies into an eficient design tool. No iterative time-domain analyses are required and since the technique uses the first few moments of the exact distributed model of a transmission line net, no pre-processing steps are involved. All these factors make this methodology conducive for integration into a CAD tool for design optimization.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
