Malignant eccrine poroma is a malignant tumor arising from skin adnexal structure -the eccrine gland. It can be a localized tumor or sometimes it can be associated with multiple cutaneous metastases and visceral metastases.
A case of Generalized Lentiginosis is being documented for its rarity. A 27 years old congenitally deaf and mute, presented to our hospital with multiple asymmetrical brown-black to black colored macules involving all over the body sparing mucous membrane of oral cavity, palms and soles with melena. The patient was severely anemic on examination.
Lichen means dry scurfy forms of lower plant life and the same name indicate dry skin disorder like lichen planus. The basic histological feature of lichen planus is basal layer damage and inflammatory reaction in the sub epithelial zone. There are several sub types 0.5% of mucosal lichen planus can become or harbor invasive squamous cell carcinoma. KEYWORDS: Isolated Lichen Planus oral mucosa, Squamous cell carcinoma in oral mucosa/ vascular hamartoma of oral cavity.
INTRODUCTION:A patient with longstanding oral lichen planus subsequently presented with a raised indurated lesion. The histology of the same revealed squamous cell carcinoma in situ at various places. There are also some selective foci where there was an infiltrative lesion.
ABSTRACT:We have studied a total of 59 skin adnexal tumors that has been reported for the past 10 years (2004 -2014) in our hospital and we have documented that 7 cases of them are pilomatricoma. Features of myeloid metaplasia with extensive areas of calcification was observed with an old hematoma in only one case. Herewith a case of ancient/old pilomatricoma with extensive areas of calcification and ossification along with the formation of marrow elements is being presented. The lesion occurred in the shoulder region of a 16 year old female. Pilomatricoma (Calcifying epithelioma of Malherbe) is a tumor of hair follicle, composed of basaloid cells with squamous differentiation and formation of shadow cells.
Basal cell carcinoma preferentially occurs in the face where the surgical excision with adequate margin is curative. Sometimes basal cell carcinoma is also reported rarely in other sites especially associated with basal cell carcinoma syndrome. The histological variants are Nodular basal cell carcinoma, Keratotic basal cell carcinoma, Adenoid basal cell carcinoma, Basal cell carcinoma with sebaceous differentiation. Of these variants, Basal cell carcinoma with eccrine differentiation is practically very rare.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
